Mobex (Mobile Extension) is an intelligent GSM Gateway linked to your Samsung OfficeServ telephone system. Your mobile phone can now become an extension on your system.

Accessibility

By linking your GSM devices to your telephone system, your staff will become accessible even if they are away from their desk or classroom, whether they are in another part of the building or outside in the school grounds or further afield.

There are no restrictions on the type of GSM phone you can use. Any GSM phone can be used whether it is a Samsung mobile phone, a Nokia, Motorola or any other manufacturer’s product.

Integration

Many of the features of the telephone system are accessible by the mobile phone such as:
• The GSM Phone is an extension on the system. The GSM phone can be paired with an office phone with its own DDI. When a call comes into the DDI, both phones ring, regardless of your distance from the office.
• Calls can be transferred back to system extensions.
• Calls can be transferred to any location through the system.
• Staff can be contacted with One Number ie they can just publish their DDI rather than their mobile number.
• Staff can use one voice mailbox (the system mailbox), thereby making their voicemail’s easier to manage.
• The operator can view if the member of staff is on the phone using a Busy Lamp Field (BLF), even if they are using their mobile phone.
• A member of staff who s out of the building can be part of a system group or be part of a ring group.

Cost reduction

Costs can be reduced by setting up a closed user group with your mobile carrier (O2, Vodafone, T Mobile, Orange etc). The Mobex units come in either 2 or 4 SIM versions and can accommodate any carrier’s SIM’s. Any calls from a user to another will be free of charge.

Calls from a mobile phone when out of the office, to an external mobile phone or landline call, can be directed through the Mobex unit and through the system, to take advantage of the School’s Least Cost Routing rates.
