DECT Digital Cordless
DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, and adopts technology similar to GSM for mobile phones. It is a European standard, recognised worldwide as a benchmark for high quality cordless communication.
With a network of Base Stations on your premises - determined by coverage requirements and density of usage, DECT users can roam freely even whilst on a call, confident that the call will remain connected (DECT Roaming and Handover), secure and without interference. There are no licensing requirements, and no danger of co-channel interference.

Features
Auto-Forward from Keyphone
Just get up, grab your Avanti Cordless and go - No need to press buttons to forward your calls, the system does it for you. Sophisticated signalling between your desktop Keyphone and Avanti DECT Cordless means that the call forwarding is done automatically as soon as the you take the cordless phone from it's charger. When you return, replace the DECT phone in it's charger and calls will revert to your desktop Keyphone.
Text Messaging
Useful when you have information for a busy or unanswered extension, up to 20 predefined and freehand text messages can be stored and sent between Avanti 3040 DECT phones.
In addition to these, 30 system-defined messages can be sent and received between DECT phones and any other Avanti Display Keyphone.
Ringing Options
Users can set the ringing on their individual Avanti 3040 DECT handset to suit their own requirements:
- Silent - with or with Vibro option
- Ringing - up to 9 different ringing styles
- Auto-Answer - option for headset users
Voicemail & Message Waiting Indication
If a voicemail or other message is left for you, a red LED lamp flashes on the Avanti 3040 DECT phone to attract your attention. In addition to this the handset display will indicate the number messages waiting, and a broken dial tone is heard when off-hook.
Keypad Lock
Just press menu then * to lock your keypad against accidental dialling.
Unlock using the same sequence.
Belt Clip
An ingenious belt clip is available with a quick release and re-clip device. It is an optional extra accessory.
12 Hours Talktime (120 hr Standby)
A battery in optimum condition will support up to 12 hours continuous talktime without need for recharging - longer than an average working day. The standby time is 120 hours - nearly a week (Mon-Fri)
Multi-Language Support
To cater for a diverse range of requirements, the Avanti 3040 DECT handset can be configured in up to 4 different languages. All the screens will be displayed in the chosen language - you can choose a language setting for each handset on the system.
Choice of Profiles
Two profile can be set per handset, to specify volume levels (ringing and handset volumes). This is very useful for applications where users may sometimes work in a noisy environment - workshops etc.
Programmable Keys
The Avanti 3040 DECT Cordless handset has three programmable keys - which are programmed specifically to an individual extension-user's needs. Popular uses for these keys include:
Call Record
In conjunction with the Integrated Voicemail Option, just press the button to record your two-way conversation straight into your mailbox. You may wish to store the recording, or perhaps copy it to a colleague with your comments attached. A further step with the Unified Messaging Option enables you to convert the recording to an Industry-Standard WAV file which could be archived or e-mailed anywhere in the world.
Extension Dialling
Sometimes called "Direct Station Select" (DSS), just press the button to dial an extension - useful if you regularly call a manager, secretary or other colleague. The display will show if the desired destination extension is engaged or forwarded elsewhere.

Large Dynamic Screen Display
The Avanti 3040 DECT Cordless handset is a powerful keyphone - without a wire!
The 3-line, 12-character backlit display is your window into the system - providing easy access to key functions at the press of a button or two.
Caller ID Display/PhoneBook Match
Your incoming caller's telephone number is shown in the display, or if they are in the system PhoneBook, the name appears.
Call Control Prompts / Soft Keys
While using the DECT handset, key functions are accessible via the display - such as Pickup, Conference etc. Scroll using the arrow keys and pick a function with the three soft keys.Voicemail Prompts/Soft Keys
In conjunction with the Integrated Voicemail System, screen prompts provide quick and easy access to your messages. A host of voicemail prompts appear on the screen for message retrieval, greetings and mailbox settings. This ensures that you can get the most from your communications systems with the least effort.
Personal PhoneBook
Each Avanti 3040 DECT handset has a personal PhoneBook of up to eighty names and numbers. By following the screen prompts and using the scroll keys and soft keys you can look up names and dial, quickly and easily.
Call Register (CLIP List)
The last ten calls are available to view on-screen for reference - including:- Internal / External / Answered / Abandoned calls.
